Vice President, Business Development

Description:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for the overall management of the Company’s domestic and international business development.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key member of the executive team that sets the company’s strategic direction
  • Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy and global business development strategy
  • Develop new markets, sectors, and customers
  • Development of strategic partnerships internally with Engineering Operations and Product Groups, as well as externally with key customers
  • Manage complex contract negotiation and work with legal counsel as required
  • Lead and develop the business development team
Experience/Skill Requirements:

Technical competence: 15-20 years related experience: engineering development, sales, marketing, business development or consulting

Preferred industries: firearms, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or high tech; experience with government contracting knowledge preferred
  • Track record of building new business
  • Demonstrated collaboration and influencing skills required
  • Entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, risk-taker
  • Strategic, able to envision a future different than today, but patient enough to get us there!
  • Good multi-tasker with exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong change agent
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field (Engineering or Business degree preferred), MBA preferred
