Genome Sequencing and Analysis
Program, to develop software and algorithms for emerging DNA sequencing
technologies with revolutionary applications. Will work with other group
members to solve challenging algorithmic problems and develop analysis
techniques for large, complex data sets; rapidly design and prototype
algorithms for new data and problems; implement and optimize successful
algorithms; interact and collaborate with laboratory personnel to
improve data quality and participate in experimental design; work
collaboratively with other scientists on various projects in a
fast-paced environment; contribute to and maintain shared, documented,
and reusable codebase; and prepare written reports for internal use and
publication. Will report to the associate director of the program.

Skills:
|
|
Exceptionally deep computational understanding and
abilities. Strong C++ programming skills. Experience in UNIX/Linux environment. Python,
Perl, and/or Matlab are pluses; as is experience in industry. Excellent
oral and written communication skills needed. Must be capable of
self-directed research within broader goals set by group.

Education:

Advanced degree in math, physics, or computer science or
comparable research experience
|
|

Experience:
|
|
Three-plus years of relevant experience. Experience with advanced statistics, biology or biochemistry.
